Planeshift to earth/stone.

Connections
Navigation
Most of the rooms will have no obvious exits, so scan is not useful. Most of them have hidden exits in most directions.

Adventuring
Golem Quest
Orie Stonesinger, a gnome, is in a room entitled "The golem laboratory". This is related to the golem quest - which the gargoyles need to complete to be able to remort into a golem.

Going 2s, 2w, u from shift ends in a no-spell, no-hog room with 5 Obsidian Lords and a Huge Earth Elemental. If you have one or two arc/fus scattering, the room is much easier. Otherwise, the group needs to have (at least) 8-9 brutes in a long chain, and the fight will take substantial time.

Once cleared, there will be a local message (possibly after a short delay, don't panic) about a small space that opened up to the north large enough for 1 person. The gargoyle here needs to go north (another no-hog room), and subsequently kill Orie. The rest of the group is free to go back down, out of the no-spell room, and homeshift at will. Lingering too long is dangerous as the room will repop eventually (often very soon, if the fight took long, as it usually does). This is not a reboot-only quest.

Once Orie is dead, remorting into a golem will be allowed. Failing to kill Orie simply means the quest needs to be re-attempted, there are no permanent penalties.

Lord 1 fdk quest
If you are a lord firedrake trying to do your first evolution quest, the way to the Soulchar Desolation is e2n from shift. Entering the gateway will take you to the area. The firedrake Daxtraul is found dwnw; send the firedrake to listen to his long mobprog to start the quest.

Lord 25 Stone Giant Quest
Recommended Group size of 7-9 Lords

The group that did this quest was 8 Lords with a mix of FP and Brutes.

Tanks shift to Stone followed by rest of group. After taking shift, portal to Stone Giant. He will run through the opening of the quest after your giant says start. He will tell you to go to quartz bubble in Earth . PP to Quartz .... AGGIE ... send the tanks first . After killing the quartz you will see no obvious exits . If you move 1 e or n or s or w you will find the sinkhole depending on which of the 4 quartz you portaled to . after finding the sinkhole it is 2w . There your giant should be infused .

Portal back to stone giant and the giant will finish the rest of the spiel to make you a Stone Giant .

As with all other Elemental Giant quests you can at this point choose to reroll . This will reroll you as aethiest . For ALL giants this is recommended as you will gain mana and lose about 2K HP. The giant who did this quest went from 500 to a bit over 1K mana and lost 2K ish hp.

Do not forget as with all rerolls to Reworship . The ablute and reroll that the stone giant does on you will clear your worship at same time.

Stone Giants frequently dwell on mountains and crags, although they tend
to avoid peaks that are covered with snow. Despite the fact that they
remain creatures of flesh and blood, their skin often has a rough,
earthen appearance. This, coupled with the fact that Stone Giants are
almost always bald, means that many older Stone Giants are mistaken for
boulders when they are at rest. Stone Giants tend to be more solitary
than other Giants, but they are still capable of working together when
their homes are threatened by outsiders.

All Stone Giants have a remarkable talent for hurling heavy objects at
their foes. While the traditional projectile of choice is a boulder,
any heavy object at hand will do. Using their innate Elemental energy,
Stone Giants can cause the very earth to rise up and trap their enemies.
They're also particularly thick-skulled, making them harder to stun.

Despite the fact that they are substandard spellcasters, Stone Giants
perform admirably when working with earth, caustic, or telekinetic magic.

Cloud Giants are perhaps best known for their mysterious habit of creating
floating castles in the sky. Those who have not yet created such a
luxurious abode tend to dwell on the peaks of the tallest mountains.
Cloud Giants most often have milky white skin and light blue hair.

Cloud Giants are fickle beings. Their mood can transition from serene
to enraged at a moment's notice. Indeed, the more tempermental members
of this race are sometimes known as Storm Giants, due to their habit of
throwing lightning bolts around haphazardly.

Despite their huge size, all Cloud Giants have an innate ability to fly.
This helps them reach their floating castles in the sky. When defensive
cover is called for, a Cloud Giant can create a thick fog to surround
themselves and their allies. Cloud Giants can also occasionally discharge
their Elemental energies in the form of a powerful lightning bolt.
Lastly, Cloud Giant have the ability to summon a mighty gust to eliminate
unnatural weather patterns.

Despite the fact that they are substandard spellcasters, Cloud Giants

A Fire Giant's primary focus is the destruction of their foes. They seem
to have little regard for their own safety or well-being. When they're
not raiding the villages of the countryside, Fire Giants can most often
be found within the cracks of volcanic mountains. Fire Giants generally
have bright orange hair. On some individuals, it is so bright that it
appears to be made of fire instead of ordinary hair.

All Fire Giants emit a natural glow that eliminates the need for a
traditional light source. When provoked in combat, Fire Giants have been
known to ignite their foes, taking great pleasure in watching them burn.
Fire Giants also have the capability to set their own blood alight.
This dramatically increases their ferocity in combat.

Frost Giants originally hail from the Frozen North. Their eyes have a
special adaptation that allows them to make out subtle details that
others would miss in their snow-covered world. Most Frost Giants have
icy-blue eyes and stark white hair. While not as murderous as Fire Giants,
Frost Giants are still not above raiding & pillaging when the need arises.

Frost Giants have the ability to summon an aura of frost to protect
themselves and their party from fire damage. They can also focus the
frost into a damaging beam. This damages a foe and potentially slows
them down. Because they are accustomed to walking on ice and snow,
Frost Giants are more difficult to knock down than members of other races.
The Fire shift is extremely tame granted you have no Flame Crusaders. Usually takes 1-2 tanks only. The Great Inferno subarea, as well as the Fire elemental area can get extremely swarmy. The Lava naga in proper will migraine, and the Ember Hulk stomps.
maelstrom: s e from shift. Alternate directions include 4n e or 2n e n.

lloydable room (Stone Shelter): 2n e u. Or n e n u. Or s e s u (passing by Maelstrom on your way).

From stone shelter to maelstrom: d n.

The area is mostly a 4x4x4 or 5x5x5 cube, or so it seems. Not much bigger or smaller than that though, that's for sure.<br>
There are a few minor irregularities in the exits. That is to say, you won't always get back to the same room if you backtrack your steps. If you run here more often, it's useful to know roughly where backtracking will and will not take tou back to where you came from.

If you go down from the stone shelter, the rooms e, se, s, sw, w, su, n and the stone shelter itself are all directly connected without any irregularities. So if the anchor is in place, that's a great set of rooms to get some xp in without getting lost. Feel free to expand this knowledge with more rooms connected here that allow backtracking. (I am pretty sure down from the shelter, 2 rooms in any direction are okay. ee, ww, nn, ss, dd. Need to check on ne, nw, nu, nd, en, es, eu, ed, wn, ws, wu, wd, sd.)

Adventuring
This is a nice place for a group of ~5 to get exp. It only has one sentinel mob at shift, and you can get a Ring Of Water by killing one of the three deadlies.

Almost every room in this area has eight exits. This creates two problems for us:
*Sudden swarms can appear. Sometimes you can get away with running some small group exp here, but more often than not you get suddenly slammed by a huge wave. Sometimes this happens at shift, other times when spells are low.
*This area is hard to regen in. Here are a few good places to regen:
**Inside the maelstrom. From shift go s, e to reach the room with the maelstrom in it. Enter the maelstrom, deal with the surly (stabber), and regen. If you want to you can take on the water elemental ruler (who holds the tattoo) to the east. Otherwise your group must portal out.
**The stone shelter: 2e n u from shift. This is the lloydable room on this plane. From here you can enter a nexus to Nothing if you choose.
**Thorngate. If you win a fight by the skin of your teeth you might as well go back home and regen up proper. Consider making a shrine 2e. Retake shift when you're good and ready.

**If you see a room with 3 invis mobs on scan (red eyes), that's icesphere room.

eventually these mobs will get their own pages, but for now here's the levels of some of the mobs in water proper:
Diplomatic Corps
Giants may participate in the Diplomatic Corps every 10 levels at lowmort. All Giants should report to Nhug when they are ready to begin.

Comments
Giants get an enormous amount of HP, more than any other race, remort or creatable. This makes them absurdly big regardless of class. However, their dexterity (and thus dodging) is poor and they lack natural armor, so in combat they tend to lose the HP at a faster pace. Due to this flaw they make exceptional berserkers (berserkers are highly resistant to damage).

Giants also have a racial damage modifier and considerable strength, so they make excellent warriors and other brute classes.

Their powerswing ability makes them very proficient with two-handed weapons, allowing them to deal more damage than races without it - thus paladins are also a possible career (paladins use two-handed swords).

Giant stealth is bad, archery as well, and casting ability is laughable.

Elemental Giants
The Elemental Giants are subgroups of the Giant race that have somehow
been imbued with Elemental magic. This Elemental nature that permeates
their being gives these Giants access to a variety of unique abilities.
It also allows Elemental Giants to cast more spells before resting than
ordinary Giants.

Despite their distinct nature, Elemental Giants share many similarities
with their more common cousins. All Giants are massive creatures that
are incredibly strong and extremely hardy. They all have a fondness of
eating corpses and they all excel at using two-handed weapons.

Like ordinary Giants, Elemental Giants are, generally speaking, atrocious
spell-casters. However, their Elemental nature allows them to fare better
than normal with certain specific types of magic. This magical affinity
means that Elemental Giants will have better success when casting certain
types of spells, and they will expend less magical energy while doing so.

There is an important distinction between Elemental Giants and true
Elementals. True Elementals are entirely composed of their corresponding
element, be it Fire, Air, Earth, or Water. Elemental Giants remain beings
of flesh and blood.

Giants are eligible to become Elemental Giants at Lord Level 25.
The Following Elements are Available along with their Corresponding Element

Fire Giant - Fire

Cloud Giant - Air

Stone Giant - Earth

Water Giant - Water
A battleworn goblin carved up the remainder and used it to create a business for himself.

But the World Ash is immortal, or so the legends say. If it dies, the world dies. And since the world is still here, so must the World Tree still be ... somewhere.
Unlike in the past, you can no longer just walk up to it and climb its branches. You must seek out its hidden entrance.
The tree is actually not that large, three levels connected with vertical trunk rooms. Of note are the portals on the tips and edges of the levels (enter glow) which connect randomly across the tree.

Adventuring
Demons and similar beasts roam across the tree, but some interesting mobs can be found which may require paying attention to (for example the lizardmen pianist). The end-portals will probably be linked to other areas over time, but for now they haphazardly (and randomly) connect across the tree itself.
